Disable Drawer Prompts
By default, TORO prompts employees to open the drawer at the start of the day and close it at the end. Some stores prefer to skip these prompts entirely. This setting allows you to turn off the automatic drawer counting screens.
How to Disable Drawer Prompts
- 1 Navigate to Settings from the Dashboard (requires manager access)
- 2 Go to Cash Drawer settings
- 3 Locate the option to disable drawer open/close prompts
- 4 Toggle the setting off
- 5 Save your changes
What Changes
When drawer prompts are disabled:
- Employees can begin ringing up sales immediately after logging in
- No opening cash count is required
- No closing cash count is prompted at end of day
- Cash reconciliation reporting will not have opening/closing counts to compare against
When to Use This
Disabling drawer prompts is useful for stores that handle cash counting offline, use a separate cash management process, or operate primarily with card-only transactions. For stores that handle significant cash volume, keeping drawer prompts enabled is recommended for accurate reconciliation.
Key Points
- This is a store-wide setting — it affects all registers and employees
- You can re-enable prompts at any time
- Transactions are still tracked even without drawer prompts
- Manager access is required to change this setting
