Processing Payments

Once items are added to a transaction, TORO collects payment. The system supports multiple payment methods and allows splitting transactions across different types.

Cash Payment

Tap Pay on the main screen. Select Cash as the payment method. Enter the amount tendered. TORO calculates the change due automatically. The cash drawer opens. Hand over change and tap Complete.

Credit/Debit Card Payment

Tap Pay. Select Credit Card. Have the customer insert, tap, or swipe their card on the terminal. Wait for terminal approval. Transaction completes automatically once approved.

Split Payments

Select the first payment method and enter a partial amount. TORO records that payment and shows the remaining balance. Select the next payment method for the remaining amount. Repeat until the balance reaches $0.00.

The system supports:

• Gift Certificate
• Virtual Gift Card
• Account Credit
• Tab
• Other custom payment types

Key Facts

• You must attach a customer to the transaction before using Tab or Account Credit
• Credit card processing requires an active merchant account
• Tips can be added during the payment process
• The cash drawer opens automatically for cash payments
• Change is only calculated for cash payments
• Receipts print automatically after payment (if configured)
