📋 Release Overview
The short version — two headline stories (a reimagined Dashboard and a wave of new modules), plus the money tools every shop owner asked for. The full details are below.💻 A reimagined Dashboard
- Rebuilt with a clean, modern look — light or dark.
- Personalize your own view — star your favorites to pin them to the top, show favorites only, and arrange cards with simple arrows.
- Owners set it up per employee and role: hide what they don’t need, build custom tabs, preview the dashboard exactly as they see it.
- A brand-new Modules & Integrations tab gathers every add-on in one place, each with its own logo.
- Theme toggle and Clock In / Out moved into the header — always one click away.
🧮 New & refreshed modules
- Virtual Phone (Voice) — drop your landline; calls forward to owners and whoever’s clocked in. Now greets callers in a real voice (typed or recorded over the phone), logs every call, and flags who needs a callback right on your home screen.
- Humidor Tracking — SensorPush sensors watch your humidor 24/7, and new Climate Insights explain why it drifts out of range.
- Label Design Studio — design your own humidor tags, shelf talkers, and sale stickers.
- SwipeSimple — sell at offsite events, then import the sales back into TORO.
- SMS and Backup modules both got modern makeovers.
💰 The money tools
- Discounts overhaul — a different rate for singles, 5-packs, and boxes; TORO picks the right one automatically. Plus a rebuilt-for-touch discount screen: tap a preset percentage, tap a quick reason, done.
- Stop & fix double charges — prevents accidental double charges, and rebuilds any missing sale without charging the card again — plus one-tap refund requests on already-settled charges.
- Selling Assistant — redesigned, and now texts the exact customers most likely to buy a cigar you want to move.
- Two new reports — Reorder Point Analysis (what to reorder, and how long before you run out) and an Annual Accountant report that emails your accountant everything, once a year, automatically.
- And more — CigarLink rebuilt, a smart wholesale reorder builder, cleaner wholesale invoice emails with a spreadsheet attached, stock-on-hand in Price Check, scan-to-verify on POs, an SMS campaign ROI report, bulk gift-card loading, a drag-to-arrange home-screen header, and two new TORO Insight views.
📖 Detailed Updates in This Release…
💻 Your Dashboard, Reimagined
The biggest dashboard update yet — a completely modern look, personal favorites, arrange-it-your-way cards, and a brand-new Modules & Integrations section that brings every add-on home. This release gave the TORO Dashboard its most significant overhaul since we built it. It’s cleaner, sharper, and — for the first time — built around how your store actually runs instead of showing one layout to everyone. Make it your own. Every employee can personalize their own dashboard. Star the tools you use most and they jump to the top of their section, flip on Show Favorites Only to clear away everything you don’t want to see, and use the simple arrows on each card to move things into the order that suits you. It’s saved per user, so your layout is yours — rearranging it never touches anyone else’s. Set it up for your team. The new Manage Dashboards tool (on the TORO Configuration tab) lets an owner or manager pick any employee and view the dashboard exactly as they see it. From there, hide tabs and tools with a click, build custom tabs for a specific person, and copy a tab layout to other employees in one step. Visibility is set by access level so one change covers the whole role. And hiding is always display-only — it never changes anyone’s actual permissions, just their screen. All your add-ons in one place. A brand-new Modules & Integrations tab pulls every add-on — SMS, Voice, Humidor Tracking, Label Design Studio, Backup Module, Online Store, SwipeSimple, Mailchimp, and more — into one clearly labeled section, each with its own brand logo that follows your light or dark theme. A Learn More button on every card goes straight to its help article. No more hunting through Set Up menus to find where something lives. Everyday controls right up front. The theme toggle (Dark / Light / Auto) and Clock In / Out both moved into the dashboard header — no more digging through menus for either. 🧮 New & Enhanced Modules & Integrations — these are the tools that give your store real new capabilities. A virtual phone that replaces your landline. Sensors that watch your humidor around the clock. Labels you design yourself. The ability to sell at events and bring those sales back into TORO when you’re done. Each one is built into TORO so everything stays connected.
🧮 A Refreshed Modules & Integrations Dashboard
Your add-ons now live together in one clearly-labeled place, each with its own logo, plus quick theme and clock-in buttons right at the top. The dashboard’s old “Modules” tab is now Modules & Integrations, and it gathers all your add-ons in one place — including Mailchimp, which moved here from Set Up System so email-marketing setup is easier to find. Each add-on now shows with its own brand logo instead of plain text, and the logos switch automatically between light and dark mode to match your theme. Every card also has a clear Learn More button that opens its help article, instead of a small “?” icon. A couple of everyday actions moved up top, too. A theme button on the dashboard’s utility bar cycles Dark / Light / Auto — the same sun/moon/A control you know from the main screen — so you can switch the look without digging into settings. And a combined Clock In / Out button now sits right in the dashboard header. While we were at it, the Mailchimp setup, audience, and API-key screens were rebuilt in the modern TORO style with the Mailchimp logo — same steps, easier to read. 💾 A Clearer Backup Module Screen
See at a glance when your last backup ran, whether it finished, and how many backups you have stored — with one-click View and Backup Now buttons. Opening the Backup Module from the dashboard now shows an at-a-glance status screen: your last backup (when it ran, why, and whether it finished) and your total backups stored, plus View Backups and Backup Now buttons. The last-backup status is color-coded — green when complete, red when something’s off — and if a backup looks failed or stuck, it tells you exactly what to do (“Run Backup Now,” or “Backup might still be running — check back at [time]”). The full backup history was rebuilt in the modern TORO style too, with a Filter by Date Range so you can jump straight to a specific stretch of time. 🌐 Clearer Options When You Open Online Store
Don’t have a web store yet? Opening Online Store now lays out your choices — let TORO build it for you, or connect your own WordPress site — with pricing and a built-in test button. If your store doesn’t have the web-store module yet, opening Online Store now shows a clear options screen instead of a dead end. You can have TORO build and host your whole online store for you, or connect TORO to your own existing WordPress + WooCommerce site — with a built-in Test the Integration button to confirm the connection works. Each option lists its pricing, and a Learn More button opens the help article. The dashboard card explains it better, too: one inventory for both your shop and your website, synced automatically. How to access: open Online Store from the dashboard (on a store without the web-store module).| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

🛒 Sell at Offsite Events with SwipeSimple
Build a catalog, export it for SwipeSimple, run your event — then import the sales back into TORO when you’re done. The new SwipeSimple screen helps you sell at offsite events. Build an item catalog and export it as a SwipeSimple-ready file — with your prices and taxes included — then, after the event, import the sales back into TORO. On-screen directions walk you through both steps, including clearing your SwipeSimple Items and Taxes before each upload so you don’t end up with duplicates. You can also set a custom export price per item (handy for event pricing), and mark an item — or all selected items — tax-free or exempt from specific taxes, with a clear view of exactly which taxes are being exported. 📱 A Modern Look for the SMS Module
Every SMS screen got the clean modern TORO makeover — same buttons and steps, just far easier to read in light or dark mode. If you use SMS, every screen got rebuilt in the modern TORO style: the main module page, Campaign Center, the inbox, consents, failed messages, keyword replies, settings, the store registration wizard, and more — teal headers, rounded cards, and full dark-mode support, with the SMS Module logo throughout. Same buttons, same steps, just cleaner and easier to read. Warning notes now sit in highlighted boxes so they stay readable whether you’re in light or dark mode. 📞 Your Store’s Virtual Phone — and Call Logs with One-Tap Callback
Drop your landline. TORO forwards every call to the cell phones of your owners and whoever is clocked in — with a custom greeting and live store hours — and now logs every call so you can call anyone back in one tap. This one saves you money every month. The TORO Voice Module is a full virtual phone system for your store, which means you can cancel your store’s landline or business phone line entirely. Every call to your store number is forwarded automatically to the right people: owners are always reachable, and any employee who’s clocked in gets included in the ring too — so a call during a busy shift reaches whoever is actually there. When an employee clocks out, they drop off automatically. No manual changes, no missed calls from people being off the list. You control the whole experience. Record a greeting however you want it — store name, hours, a staff introduction, whatever fits your shop. And callers can hear your live store hours read to them automatically, so they always know whether you’re open before they try to leave a message. Set it up once and it runs itself. TORO Voice replaces your monthly phone bill entirely, while adding features a landline never had. New this release: Call Logs. The Voice Module now has a Call Logs screen showing every call to your store number over any date range: totals for received, answered, and missed calls, who answered each one, and a breakdown by staff member. You can filter to a specific caller, and call any customer back in one tap — TORO rings you first, then dials them, so the call comes from your store number. The customer screen gets a Call button too, and every customer now has a Call History view showing every call from their number, so you always have the full picture of who’s been trying to reach you. Never miss a callback. A new Store Phone chip sits on your home screen, right next to the SMS chip — it turns red when a recent missed call still needs a callback and green when you’re all caught up. Tap it to open Customers Needing a Callback, where you can return calls (or clear out spam and wrong numbers) from one tidy list. You can let staff see that list without letting them place callbacks, so returning a customer’s call stays a controlled action. Because your call history is now kept on your own system, you can also look back further than your phone provider’s window, and the screen loads faster. How to access: Voice Module → Call Logs. 🎤 Your Store’s Greeting, in a Real Voice
Replace the robotic computer voice with a natural voice you simply type out — or record the greeting in your own voice, right over the phone. When you set up an automated voice message, you can now choose how the greeting actually sounds. Pick a natural voice — just type what you want it to say, choose from dozens of voices and languages, and hit Generate & Preview to hear it before you save — with no recording gear and no files to upload. Or choose Record by Phone: enter your mobile number, TORO calls you, and you record the greeting like leaving a voicemail (press # when you’re done). Either way, a Preview button plays the current greeting right at the station, and once you save an audio greeting TORO offers to push it live on your store phone immediately. It’s the difference between a phone line that sounds like a computer and one that sounds like your shop. How to access: Voice Module → set up an automated message → choose a Greeting Type. 🌡️ Humidor Tracking with SensorPush
Connect SensorPush sensors and watch your humidor 24/7 — continuous logging, out-of-range alerts, and analytics that help you pin down what keeps drifting your humidity. The new Humidor Tracking module connects SensorPush temperature and humidity sensors to TORO so you can keep an eye on your humidor around the clock, right from the dashboard. You get continuous logging, out-of-range alerts, and full analytics — including which employees and customers were in the shop when a reading swung, so you can finally track down what keeps nudging your humidity off target. Not sure if it’s for you? Tapping the Humidor Health tile now opens a quick “what you get” preview first — a look at the screen, the headline benefits, and links to see it online or read the manual — before you ever start a trial. How to activate: turn it on yourself from the Modules & Integrations tab — $7.99/month (sensors are bought separately from SensorPush).| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

🔬 Humidor Climate Insights — Find Out Why Your Humidor Swings
A new investigator that catches every time your humidor drifts out of its ideal band and, right up top, names the most likely reason — busy-hour door traffic, the weather outside, or one shift’s routine — with the numbers to back it up. Knowing your humidity slipped is one thing; knowing why is another. The new Climate Insights tool opens from the Humidor Health screen and does the detective work for you. It finds every time the box left its ideal range over the last three months and names the most likely cause — and you can click any single swing to see exactly what was happening around it: the temperature and humidity curve, the outdoor weather that hour, how many sales came through, and who was clocked in. Once you’ve told TORO whether a humidor is a sealed walk-in or an open display case, the advice adjusts to match — a sealed room that swings during a rush means a door was left open, not normal traffic. A new Patterns tab shows you when your humidor actually struggles: a day-of-week by time-of-day heatmap of when it runs dry, a beetle-risk meter based on built-up warmth (the real hatch driver, not a momentary spike), how dryness tracks cold weather outside, and whether your out-of-range time is trending worse over time. Climate Insights is careful, too — it tells a real moisture problem from the AC simply cycling, won’t blame the weather when your box doesn’t really follow the outdoors, and won’t pin a swing on whoever just happens to work the most shifts. The per-humidor view was redesigned around a big health rating, your latest reading next to its 30-day average with up/down arrows, plain-English “How we got here / What to do / Watch for” guidance, and a score breakdown where tapping ? on any factor explains how temperature, humidity, VPD, and dew point each earned their number. The advice is gentler where it counts: a bone-dry humidor is told to come back up slowly — about 5% a week — rather than slammed to full humidity, which splits wrappers; and if a box went dry and then got over-humidified within a day or two, TORO flags the whipsaw that both cracks wrappers and invites mold. See the whole picture at a glance. The humidor Overview now opens with your Health Score up top and a wall of 30-day trend charts — temperature, humidity, dew point, VPD, health, and an “all metrics vs. ideal” overview — each with a best-fit trend line so you can see which way things are heading. Light-gray bands mark your store’s open hours right on every chart, so you can instantly tell whether a swing hit while you were open (a door left ajar) or after close (something else). Click any chart to open it full screen, where you can zoom in on a rough stretch (the value scale stays put, so the highs and lows never scroll out of view), hover to read the exact numbers, pick a date range, and slide along the timeline. Even the sensor dropdown now shows each humidor’s live health score, temperature, and humidity right in the list, so you can pick the one you’re worried about without opening it first. 🏷️ Label Design Studio — Design Your Own Item Labels
A drag-and-drop designer for branded labels — humidor tags, shelf talkers, sale stickers — built from your own text, item fields, barcodes, and images. The new Label Design Studio lets you build your own label templates: humidor tags with strength and country, shelf talkers with your logo, bold sale stickers — using text, auto-filled item fields, barcodes, and images, all arranged just how you like. Open it from the Label Design Studio button on Item Details. A Template Manager lists your saved templates so you can add, edit, duplicate, or delete them, and you can set up your own custom label sizes to match the stock you print on. Quick-print a template for any item. Once your labels are designed, a new Quick Print Labels button on Item Details prints one for the item in front of you in seconds. Pick a saved template, then choose how many — a quick 1, a full box, or your whole on-hand count — or type an exact number and hit Print. TORO pre-selects the template you used last time, so running off a fresh shelf tag or a batch of sale stickers is a couple of taps. It saves any pending edits first, so the label always prints the item’s current name and price. How to activate: $9.99/month after a free trial through the end of next month. 🎯 A Rebuilt Selling Assistant — and One-Click Customer Texts
The Analytic Selling Assistant got a full redesign, and now it can text the exact customers who buy a cigar you want to move. The Selling Assistant is now a clean grid of cards — mild to full down the side, price low to high across the top — and each cell points you at one cigar to focus on, with a plain-English reason and a clear badge: PUSH, MARK DOWN, DISCONTINUE, or FEATURE. When a cigar should be cleared out, a one-click suggested discount is right there. And if you’re a brand-new store without much sales history yet, empty cells get filled with a fitting cigar from your inventory so the grid still gives you something to work with from day one. The standout addition is the customer text campaign. Pick a recommended cigar — from the toolbar or by right-clicking — and TORO pulls together the opted-in customers who bought it in the last 12 months. You choose whether to text the people who bought that exact cigar or everyone who buys the whole brand, TORO pre-writes a message you can edit, and hands you off to the campaign screen to review before anything sends. It’s a fast way to turn slow-moving stock into a sale by reaching the people most likely to buy it. There’s also a new Sellthrough Report that shows how the cigars you marked down actually moved afterward, so you can see whether your clearance decisions are working. (The text-campaign and report tools are for admins, and texting requires SMS to be set up for your store.) How to access: Admin Tools → Item Management → Analytic Selling Assistant.| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

🏷️ Discounts Overhaul — Single vs Box Discount for Accounts
Give a different discount for singles, 5-packs, and boxes — on a discount level or an individual account — and TORO picks the right one automatically. A discount level (or an individual customer’s account) can now give a different discount based on how many cigars are in the pack being bought — for example singles 5%, 5-packs 10%, boxes 15%. Set it up under Manage Discounts → Discount Levels: open a product type’s discount and add tiers, each with a minimum and maximum item count and a discount, or check no max for an open-ended top tier. TORO keeps your tiers honest as you build them. Tiers can’t overlap — if they do, TORO marks the row red and recommends the exact fix — gaps between tiers are allowed, and a Valid column shows each tier green or red at a glance. At the register the right tier is applied automatically based on the pack size the customer is buying, so your staff never has to think about it. 🏷️ Faster Discounts at Checkout
The discount screen was rebuilt for touch — tap a preset percentage, tap a quick reason, and you’re done. Applying a discount at the register is now a two- or three-tap job. The discount screen got a full modern rebuild with a grid of preset percentages (5% through 50%) and one-tap quick-reason buttons, so the everyday case — “10% off, Sale” — is done in a couple of taps instead of typing anything. You can still enter an exact amount, switch between a percent and a dollar amount, and type a custom reason whenever you need to. Managers control the quick-reason buttons from a new admin Setup screen right on the discount window: add your own reasons (it ships with “First Responder” and “Sale”), remove ones you don’t use, or turn the quick reasons off entirely. And any preset that’s above your discount limit is outlined in red, so a cashier can see at a glance when a discount will need a manager’s approval before they even tap it. How to access: select an item (or the whole ticket) and open the discount screen the way you always have; admins get a Setup button on it to manage the quick reasons.| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

📊 Reorder Point Analysis — Never Get Caught Short Again
A brand-new report that tells you exactly what to reorder, how much, and how many days you have before you run out.✅ Issue Report #2392 — requested by Ted Meeker, W. Curtis Draper Tobacco DC
There’s a new Reorder Point Analysis report in your Advanced Reporting Module that does the guesswork for you. For every item, it looks at how fast it sells, how long your suppliers typically take to deliver, and what you have on hand right now — then tells you each item’s status at a glance: OK, Low Stock, Reorder Now, or Out of Stock. You get a suggested order quantity for each item, an estimate of how many days until you’d run out, and a running total of what it would cost to restock — so you can build your next order around the things that actually need it.
The report only includes items you’ve marked to track analytics, so it stays focused on the products you care about and isn’t cluttered with one-off or untracked items. This one is brand new and labeled BETA — we’d love your feedback as you put it to work.

📦 Build a Wholesale Order From What Your Account Actually Buys
A new “Create New Analytic Invoice” screen looks at everything a wholesale account has ordered, works out how fast they go through each item, and suggests how many boxes to reorder. If you sell wholesale, building a reorder just got a lot smarter. The new Create New Analytic Invoice screen lets you pick a wholesale account and pulls up every item they’ve ordered over the past year. For each item it works out how quickly they actually go through it — measured from the first time they ordered it, so a newer item isn’t unfairly marked as slow — and then, for however many days ahead you want to cover, suggests a box count to reorder. You stay in control of every number. Type in the horizon you want to plan for, adjust any suggested quantity right in the list, or tap One of Each to start from a single box of everything. When it looks right, Build Invoice hands the whole order to the wholesale invoice editor with that account’s pricing already applied, ready to review and send. You can even set how TORO rounds the suggestions — always up, always down, or round up once an item is more than halfway to the next box. 📧 Cleaner Wholesale Invoice Emails — With a Line-Item Spreadsheet Attached
Your B2B invoice emails got a tighter, more professional layout, a spreadsheet of every line item attached automatically, and control over exactly which details show. If you send wholesale invoices by email, they look sharper now. The emailed invoice was tightened into a compact, professional B2B layout — your logo and the invoice details share one clean header tile, and the From, Bill-To, item, and total sections are all denser and easier to read at a glance. Every wholesale invoice email now also carries a line-item spreadsheet (CSV) attached alongside it — a full list of the items on the invoice with a total row — so your account can drop the order straight into their own books without retyping anything. The invoice itself still opens with View & Print just as before. You also control exactly what appears. A new Invoice Appearance screen lets you turn individual From and Bill-To fields on or off — hide a field you don’t use and TORO tidies the layout around it, even dropping an empty tile entirely and widening the rest. The whole Wholesale module settings screen was rebuilt in the modern TORO style while we were at it. How to access: Wholesale module → settings → Invoice Appearance.| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

🔎 Find & Fix Duplicate Charges
A guided tool that finds every card charge with no matching sale — and rebuilds the missing sale without charging the card again. There’s a new Find & Fix Duplicate Charges tool (next to the Credit Card Batch Analysis Tool, and on the Transactions admin screen) that lists every charge at your processor that has no matching sale in TORO and tells you what to do with each one: VOID a likely duplicate, review a possible one, or build the sale that’s missing. When a sale needs to be rebuilt, TORO does it for you from the original cart — the items, quantities, tax, customer, and the original cashier — and records it against the card payment that already went through. The card is never charged again. You review the rebuilt sale before recording it, so nothing happens without your say-so. And TORO walks you right to it: when your credit card sales don’t match the processor batch at drawer close, it now opens Find & Fix straight to the account that’s out of balance, so you can clear it up before you close. 💳 Request a Refund on an Already-Settled Card Charge
When a card charge has already settled and can’t simply be voided, a new Request Refund button gathers the details and sends them to TORO support to handle. Once a credit card batch has settled — usually the next day — a charge can no longer just be voided at the register. The Credit Card batch tool now has a Request Refund button on each charge for exactly that situation. Tap it, confirm the charge you mean, and TORO sends the details our support team needs — the amount, the date, and the last four digits of the card — straight to your store’s TORO support channel so we can process the refund for you. It doesn’t move any money on its own; it’s a clean, one-tap way to hand off a settled-charge refund instead of chasing it down by hand. How to access: the Credit Card batch tool → open a charge → Request Refund.| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

💳 Stop Accidental Double Charges Before They Happen
If a card reader times out, TORO checks the processor and offers to link the existing charge instead of running the card twice. When a card reader times out, it’s easy to run the card a second time without realizing the first one actually went through. TORO now checks the processor for a charge that already succeeded and offers to link to that existing payment instead of charging the card again — so a slow reader can’t turn into a double charge. The prompt now leads with the card’s last 4 digits in large type, so you can tell at a glance whether it’s the same customer’s card before choosing to link it or run a new payment. It’s on by default, with a toggle in Set Up Credit Cards. While we were there, the Set Up Credit Cards screen got a cleaner two-column TORO layout that groups the credit card minimum, accepted card types, duplicate-charge protection, and surcharge into clear, easy-to-find cards. 📱 See If Your Text Campaigns Actually Made You Money
Pick a sent SMS campaign and TORO shows you who came in, how much they spent, how much of that was above their normal — and whether it paid for itself.✅ Issue Report #2055 — requested by Chris Helmuth, Humidour
Send a text blast and you’ve always wondered: did it actually work? Now you can find out. On the SMS Campaigns screen, pick a campaign you’ve already sent and click the new Report button. TORO looks at everyone you texted, sees who came in and shopped afterward, and lays it all out in a clean report you can read, sort, and save.
The report is honest with you on purpose — it shows two numbers side by side, never just one. First, the full response: everyone who got the text and came in, and everything they spent. Second, the lift above normal: the part of that spending that was above what those same customers usually spend — the part the text can really take credit for. From the lift it works out your return: what the campaign cost to send versus the extra profit it brought in. If your message names a deal that ends soon (“this weekend,” “until Friday”), TORO even narrows the time window to match, and you can widen it to 3, 7, or 14 days to see how the numbers move.
If you named a brand in your text, the report breaks out how much of that brand sold — and everything customers bought alongside it. It also flags new and lapsed customers separately, tracks any coupon code redemptions tied to the campaign, tells you when a sample is too small to trust, and never overclaims. It’s the straight answer to “was that worth it?” — and a way to tell, over time, which kinds of campaigns are really worth sending. (Reporting is for admins, and your store needs SMS set up.)
Want the report to measure something specific? When you build or edit a campaign you can now pin exactly what it should track — particular brands, companies, or items, a specific day or date range, and coupon code(s) — instead of leaving TORO to guess from the message text. The whole SMS Campaigns screen and campaign editor also got a fresh TORO makeover with cleaner layout and clearer buttons, and the campaign list now shows each sent campaign’s cost and profit right in line, with a Report button on every row.
How to access: SMS Campaigns → select a sent campaign → Report.

🔗 CigarLink Brand Linking, Rebuilt
If you use CigarLink, matching your brands to the CigarLink catalog is now faster, clearer, and finally handles the cases where one of your brands lines up with several CigarLink brands. If your shop is set up with CigarLink, the Link Brands screen got a real overhaul. TORO lines your brands up next to their best CigarLink matches, sorts the strongest matches to the top, and shows a confidence score and status for each one — so you can confirm a whole screen of brands in a few clicks instead of one at a time. Select several rows and link them in one go, or use Show Linked / Show Unlinked to focus on just the brands that still need attention. The big fix: one of your brands can now be linked to more than one CigarLink brand. CigarLink often splits a brand into finer pieces than you do, and the old one-to-one link couldn’t keep up — so some of your cigars never found their price match. Now a Link Count shows how many CigarLink brands each of your brands is tied to, and a View Linked button opens the full list where you can unlink any single one. There’s also a redesigned Catalog browser — filter by factory or brand, search by name, and link any catalog cigar straight to one of your items. 🎁 Build Grab Bags and Sampler Packs from Your Existing Stock
Pull cigars from different items in your inventory and combine them into a new grab bag or pack — on-hand counts stay right across every item. Want to put together a grab bag, build a sampler pack, or break a box down into singles? The transfer tool lets you take cigars out of one or more items in your inventory and roll them into another. Pick what you’re pulling from, choose what you’re building, set the quantities, and TORO moves the cigars over and keeps every item’s on-hand count right — a box of 20 correctly accounts for all 20 cigars inside it. Your on-hand numbers update the moment a transfer is done, the columns are laid out so the list is easy to read at a glance, and the screen fits cleanly on register hardware. It’s a quick way to assemble a custom pack from whatever you already have on the shelf. How to access: Admin Tools → Inventory → Transfer SKUs.| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

💰 Bulk-Load Gift Card Balances When You Import Customers
Bringing your customer list over from another system? Now their existing gift card balances come with them. When you import a list of customers into TORO, you can now bring their existing virtual gift card balances along for the ride. Add a column to your spreadsheet with each customer’s gift card value, point TORO at it, and check Add Virtual Gift Card — TORO loads that balance onto each account automatically as it imports, so your customers walk in with the credit they already had, no hand-keying required. It’s done the honest way. Each balance is funded as free store credit (a comp), so loading a thousand customers’ gift cards doesn’t show up as a thousand dollars of fake sales — your revenue and sales reports stay clean and accurate. You can also map a notes column so every loaded card carries a little reminder of where the balance came from. Blank, zero, or invalid amounts are simply skipped, so a messy spreadsheet won’t create junk cards. 📦 Price Check Now Shows What’s In Stock
Scan an item to check its price and, with one checkbox, see exactly how many you have on hand — right down to boxes and singles.✅ Issue Report #2394 — requested by Ben Lee, B&B Tobacconists
When you scan or search an item in Price Check, you can now see how many of it you have in stock right alongside the price. Just turn on the Show QOH checkbox in the bottom-left corner of the Price Check screen, and once you pull up a specific item it shows the on-hand count — and for boxed cigars, it even breaks that count down into full boxes and leftover singles, so “47 cigars” reads as “3 Boxes & 7 Singles” at a glance.
Because looking up live stock takes a moment longer, the checkbox is labeled (SLOWER) — it’s on by default, and TORO remembers your choice, so if you’d rather keep Price Check as fast as possible you can simply uncheck it.
Price Check is smarter about barcodes now, too. If your scanner doesn’t add an Enter at the end of a scan, you can still pull an item up by barcode — just scan or type it and press Enter. And there’s a new Linking Barcodes Mode for admins: flip it on, and scanning a barcode that isn’t on file yet takes you straight to the Find Item screen to link it, with no extra prompts in the way — a quick way to tag new stock with its barcode right from Price Check.
How to access: open Price Check, scan or search an item, and toggle Show QOH at the bottom-left.

📦 Verify a Received Purchase Order by Scanning
Mark a received PO as Verified and scan each box that actually showed up — TORO shows you what matched, what’s missing, and what’s extra. Marking a received purchase order as Verified now opens a scan-and-reconcile window. Scan each box that physically arrived and TORO shows you what matched (green), what’s still missing (red/amber), and what showed up that wasn’t on the order (red). When you finalize, it walks you through the leftovers — move a shortfall to backorder or delete it, and add an unexpected item to the PO (it asks for quantity and cost) or leave it as a noted discrepancy. Items split across multiple lines on the PO fill in automatically as you scan, you can mark lines received or move them to backorder by hand, and a manager can override to verify the order as-is. A built-in Help button (and a one-time prompt) opens the full guide whenever you need it. Scale the brand logo up or down, add your own text with the color and size you choose, and just drag the logo and the text wherever they look best. 🧭 Arrange Your Home-Screen Header However You Like
Drag the clock, weather, age-check date, and status tiles into the layout that suits your counter — then lock it in for every register. Your main screen’s top bar is now yours to arrange. On your main station, right-click the TORO logo and choose Rearrange Header to grab the clock, the weather, the age-check date, and the status tiles — SMS, CigarLink, Insight, Messages, Store Phone, and humidor — and drag each one exactly where you want it. While you’re arranging, the rest of the screen pauses so nothing rings up by accident. When it looks right, tap Lock Header to save it, or Reset to TORO Factory Defaults to snap back to the standard layout any time. Your arrangement applies to every register in the store, so you set it up once. And once it’s locked, you can right-click the clock, weather, or date to resize just that tile — make the clock big and the weather small, whatever reads best from across the room. 💳 A Redesigned Card-on-File Manager for Tabs
A friendlier, more visual way to manage the cards your customers keep on file for their tabs. Managing the cards your customers keep on file for their tabs got a complete makeover. Instead of a plain list, you now see the cards laid out exactly as your staff see them at the register, and you can drag them into any order you want — put your most-used cards right up front. A friendlier picker makes it quick to grab the right card when starting a tab, and there’s now a single, simple editor for building or changing a card: choose a brand and color, type a description, and watch a live preview update as you type. Cards you’re not using anymore don’t clutter the screen — they move to a tidy inactive cards area, and bringing one back is a single click. Set it up once with your accountant’s email address and TORO handles the rest every year — no digging through screens, no exporting by hand, no chasing down figures the week before they’re due.

✅ A Fresh Open/Close Checklist — with “All Days” Tasks
The opening and closing checklist editor got a clean new look, a one-and-done “All Days” task, and easy import and export through a spreadsheet. Setting up your daily opening and closing checklist is easier and better looking. The editor has a fresh, modern layout: pick Opening or Closing at the top and click the day you want down the left side. The standout addition is an All Days tag — enter a task once and it prints on every day, so you don’t have to retype “count the drawer” seven times. When you’re looking at a single day, a strip shows the All-Days tasks that will also print that day, so what you see is exactly what your staff get. You can also move your whole checklist in and out through a spreadsheet. Export to Excel (CSV) saves the entire checklist in one click, and Import from Excel (CSV) loads your changes back in. In the spreadsheet, put All or a comma-separated list of days (like “Monday,Wednesday”) in the day column and TORO splits it out for you. It’s available to every user, not just admins. 📦 See What Damage Is Really Costing You
A new report that turns your damaged-stock write-offs into a clear loss-and-recovery story — what you lost, what you got back, and what it cost you in the end. Every shop takes some loss to damage — a cracked wrapper, a flooded humidor, a dropped box. The new Damaged Items report in your Advanced Reporting Module adds it all up and shows you the part that matters: how much that damage cost you, how much you recovered back from manufacturer compensation, and your net loss after recovery. A month-by-month chart lays your losses against your recoveries so you can spot the trend at a glance, and a recovery-rate figure tells you how much of your damage you’re actually getting reimbursed for. Dig in as deep as you like: filter the list by brand, then narrow to a single item within that brand, and the totals update live to match whatever you’re looking at. 🏹️ A Reworked Product Types Area
Your Product Types screen and editor got the modern TORO look — a cleaner list, easy-to-read editing, and a dedicated button for arranging your main-menu buttons. The Product Types screen (your item categories) has a fresh, modern look and now lists your categories in alphabetical order so they’re easy to scan. The editor behind it was redesigned too: cleaner sections, larger labels, easy-to-read white input boxes, and — for stores with an online store — all the web settings grouped under a single Online Store Configuration panel. If you don’t have an online store, those settings simply hide themselves and the window narrows to fit, so you only ever see what applies to you. A few buttons got clearer, too. View Items for Product Type (clearer name) opens a refreshed, modern list of every item in that category. Edit Menu Button (formerly “Change Coloring”) opens the button-look editor that matches the style your store is running. And arranging your main-screen category buttons now has its own home: a new Edit Main Menu Layout button opens the drag-and-drop layout editor, where each register keeps its own order — so reordering lives in one clear place instead of typing numbers into the list. 🎟️ A Friendlier Coupon Receipt — Now With a Scannable Code
Loyalty coupon receipts now congratulate your customer by name, lead with the reward, and can print a barcode you scan to apply — no typing the code. When a customer earns a loyalty reward, the coupon receipt got a warm makeover. Instead of leading with the fine print, it now opens with a quick congratulations by first name — “Congrats, Maria! You’ve earned a reward.” — puts the reward itself front and center, then prints the coupon code nice and big so it’s easy to read across the counter. The dates read friendlier too: “Valid now. Use it today.”, “Expires at: …”, and a simple “No expiration.” where it applies. The headline addition is an optional scannable barcode of the coupon code. Turn it on for your store and every coupon receipt prints a barcode of the exact code. When the customer comes back to redeem, just scan it on the Apply Coupon screen and the coupon pulls right up — no squinting at a long code or hand-keying it. To make that even smoother, the Apply Coupon screen now drops the cursor into the code box the moment it opens, so whether you scan the barcode or type the code, it goes straight in. How to activate: the redesigned receipt is automatic. The scannable barcode is the new Coupon Receipt Barcode module — turn it on yourself from the Modules & Integrations tab for $4.99/month.| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

🎉 Convert Points to Coupons, Redesigned
When a customer earns several reward coupons at once, you decide how to hand them out — one big coupon, all separate, or any mix in between. When a customer cashes in enough points for more than one reward, the new Convert Points to Coupons screen starts with a single big combined coupon and lets you split it into smaller ones — or combine them back — with simple − and + buttons. Want to hand out one $10 and two $5 coupons instead of one $20? A few taps and it’s done. Plain All separate and One big coupon shortcuts are right there when you just want the quick answer. The screen also sizes itself to fit whatever you build, so even a long list of coupons reads cleanly on a smaller register without anything getting cut off. It replaces the old points converter everywhere it showed up — checkout rewards, rewards history, and the touchscreen “convert points” action. How to access: it opens automatically when converting a customer’s points into coupons (checkout rewards, rewards history, or the touchscreen Convert Points action).| ⚡ Speed | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

🔧 Under the Hood
- Your online store stays in sync. Stock changes that happen outside an ordinary sale — transfers, breaking down a box, receiving a purchase order, manual on-hand adjustments, resellable returns — now update your online store too, so what’s for sale on the web matches what’s actually on your shelves.
- Online store syncing is more reliable. The connection to your online store now recovers gracefully from hiccups and keeps going instead of getting stuck, so your web inventory stays current with less babysitting.
- Store weather sets itself up. TORO now figures out your store’s location automatically from your address, so weather-based features just work without you entering coordinates by hand.
- Weather never slows down your main screen. If the weather service can’t be reached, TORO now gives up after a few seconds instead of pausing while it waits — so a bad internet moment can’t make the register feel sluggish. In the meantime the top bar shows a small, tidy “WEATHER / DISABLED” chip in place of the reading instead of a long, crammed line, and your live temperature snaps right back the moment the service is reachable again.
- WhatsApp messages wait until you’re open. Automated WhatsApp messages now hold until your store is open for business, so customers don’t get a text in the middle of the night.
- One-click “Set QOH to 0.” The Inventory Management screen has a new quick button that zeroes out the on-hand count for the selected item(s) in one click. The item stays active and still inventoried — it just resets the count, unlike the deactivate button right next to it.
- Auto-generate a barcode for new multi-packs. After creating pack SKUs with the Create Multi-Packs tool, you can now choose to auto-generate a barcode for each new pack in one step.
- Card payments no longer hit “Unknown Error #453.” Fixed an intermittent error that could appear when sending a credit card payment to the terminal (Credit → OK) — card payments now go through cleanly in that scenario. As part of the same fix, unexpected card errors are now recorded with full detail instead of a generic code, so they’re faster to track down if anything ever does come up.
- Cleaner tip handling on card sales. A sale with no tip is no longer recorded as a $0 tip “entered by” the cashier, so your tip reporting stays accurate.
- Creating a brand-new brand is rock solid. Fixed a rare hiccup that could interrupt you while adding a brand that hadn’t been saved yet — new brands now create cleanly every time.
- Adding an icon to a category button works again. Choosing an icon for a category button (right-click a category tile → Edit → Choose Icon) could fail with an error on regular registers — the icon picker and icon designer now open correctly.
- A smoother first-time activation screen. When you activate TORO on a new station, the activation screen got a fresh look and is one step shorter — if the station already has its license key on file, TORO fills it in for you (locked, so it can’t be mistyped) and takes you straight to entering your Owner PIN.
- Employee discounts and points are more accurate. Tightened up how employee discounts and points work: when an item is covered by both an item-level and a brand-level discount, the more specific item discount now wins; brand-discount price tiers stick when you edit them; the setup screen saves cleanly even before you’ve added any tiers; and newly hired staff who are on pace with their hours see their full earned point balance at redemption.
- The Item Catalog opens ready to use. When you open the Item Catalog already focused on a brand or company — for example from Purchase Order → Add Item — its items now show up right away instead of making you reselect the brand to see them.
- A nicer “Loading items” screen. The Item Catalog now shows the modern animated spinner with a live percentage while it loads, so you can see it working.
- Sensible default buttons for new registers. A brand-new store or register now starts with a practical main-screen category button layout (Cigar, Miscellaneous, Pipe Tobacco, and so on) instead of a plain alphabetical list. Any register you’ve already arranged yourself is left exactly as you set it.
- Purchase order totals are spot-on. Federal Excise Tax now applies only to wholesale invoices, where it belongs — so your purchase order totals no longer include it, and the total on a PO’s detail screen matches the total shown in your purchase order list.
- Price Check reads clearly in light mode. The item name and price on the Price Check screen now show in crisp, dark, easy-to-read text when you’re using TORO’s light theme (dark theme is unchanged).
- Accurate product-type counts on your tax tables. The product-type counts shown on the Pricing & Tax screen no longer display a wrong or negative number — they now count only your active product types.
- Editing a tax shows only active categories. When you edit a tax, the “applied” and “not applied” product-type lists now show only your active product types, while quietly keeping any settings on inactive ones intact.
- Easier to tell stacked windows apart. Dialog windows now have a clear border — white in dark mode, gray in light mode — so when one window opens on top of another, it’s easy to see where one ends and the next begins.
- Refreshed date pickers throughout. The date-selection boxes used across reports, transactions, inventory, payroll, and more were restyled in the modern TORO look and now follow light and dark mode — same size and buttons, just on-brand and easier to read.
- Backups run only from the main station. If you start a backup — Backup Now, or Help → Backup Database — on any other register, TORO now points you to the main station instead of running it on the wrong computer.
- The SMS Inbox no longer freezes the register. If the text-message server is slow or unreachable, the inbox now shows a loading spinner and then a clear “SMS Server Unavailable” message, instead of locking up the POS or quietly showing an empty list.
- Reward points stay balanced on bundled coupons. When several coupons come from one bundle, each one now draws the correct number of points, keeping your rewards ledger accurate.
- Employee points count partial hours. Staff now earn reward points down to the fraction of an hour — a 6½-hour shift earns 6.50 points instead of being rounded down to 6 — and balances show the cents on the redemption screen and the clock-out message. And if a points redemption can’t be recorded for any reason, TORO now stops with a clear “contact support” message instead of quietly spending the points against a sale that didn’t save.
- Set up a new station yourself. Firing up TORO on a new register no longer means waiting on Support — enter your Store API Key, pick what the station is (POS, Back Office, or Customer Interface), and it activates on the spot (one restart finishes the job). TORO now recognizes your main computer on its own and sets it up automatically; and if another register ever loses track of the main computer — say its address changed — TORO scans your network to find it again on its own, showing a tidy progress window, instead of stranding the register or quietly failing to start.
- Humidor Tracking opens cleanly every time. Fixed the Humidor screen opening blank or unresponsive when a sensor had no recent readings, and Update Sensor Now now shows the fresh temperature and humidity right away instead of making you close and reopen the window. The Active toggle saves reliably, and Test Credentials gives a clear message instead of failing silently.
- Sensible Profit % on free or zero-cost items. On the Inventory Value report, an item with no cost on file (free goods, or a cost you haven’t entered yet) used to show a wild, meaningless markup like 204,600%. Those now show a clean “*” instead — with a “What does * mean?” explainer — and still sort sensibly to the bottom of the list.
- Approve TORO Insight access without leaving TORO. When someone requests access to your store’s TORO Insight, you can approve them right from the TORO User Access screen again — the Approve button is back, so you no longer have to handle a pending request anywhere else.
- Age-check ID scanning works with more scanners. Scanning a driver’s license to verify age now reads the birthday correctly on Symbol/Zebra scanners (like the DS9208) that don’t separate the license fields the way other scanners do — so an ID that used to come back “could not be read” now scans cleanly. And a new ID Scanner Diagnostics tool (for admins, in your dashboard’s utility tools) lets you scan a license and see exactly what your scanner sent and whether the birthday read — so if a scanner ever acts up, support can pinpoint it in seconds.
- The Discount Item button waits for a selection. On the register, the Discount Item button now only opens the discount screen when an item is actually selected in the cart, so it can’t open with nothing chosen.
- Bump cart quantities from the keyboard. With one or more line items highlighted on the register, you can now press + to add one to every highlighted line or − to take one away. It mirrors the on-screen plus/minus steppers and follows the same permissions, and it stays completely out of the way when nothing is selected, so scanning and searching an item are unaffected.
- Importing contacts no longer loses duplicates. When you import a customer list and two or more rows share the same phone number, TORO now merges them into a single, most-complete customer — filling in blank fields and combining their notes — instead of skipping every copy and losing the information. The merged-away rows are shown in yellow in the preview so you can see exactly what happened before you import.
