Mailchimp Email Integration
TL;DR
Every customer who's ever bought from you is a warm lead — someone who already knows where your shop is, trusts what you sell, and might come back if you give them a reason. The Mailchimp integration keeps your TORO customer list in sync automatically so you can run real email campaigns without ever exporting a spreadsheet. At $8.99 a month — the price of one cigar — you own a direct line to your entire customer base. Your competitors are buying Facebook ads to reach strangers. You could be emailing your regulars.
TORO already knows who your customers are, what they buy, and how often they come in. The Mailchimp integration puts that to work in email — your customer list stays current in Mailchimp automatically, and you can run campaigns, automations, and targeted messages without ever touching a spreadsheet.
You design and send the emails in Mailchimp. TORO keeps the customer data flowing into it.
Pricing
$8.99 a month, added to your regular TORO subscription. You'll also need a Mailchimp account — Mailchimp has a free tier that supports up to 500 contacts and 1,000 emails per month, which is enough to get started. You can upgrade as your list grows.
Turning It On
Open the Modules & Integrations tab on the dashboard and find Mailchimp. The padlock on the tile shows the status: closed means it's off, open means it's active.
Click the tile and, if the module isn't on yet, an admin user can activate it from the sign-up screen. Once it's live, clicking the tile opens the setup screen where you connect your Mailchimp account and configure how your customers sync over.
What Stays in Sync
When you add or update a customer in TORO, Mailchimp gets the update automatically — names, emails, and contact info. New customers are added as you create them. Profile updates carry across. No manual exports, no stale lists, no "why is this address still wrong after six months."
Your purchase data comes with it. That's what makes everything below worth having.
What You Can Actually Do With This
Automated emails that run themselves. Set up a welcome note for new customers, a follow-up a week after a big purchase, a win-back message for anyone who hasn't been in for 90 days. Build the automation once and Mailchimp runs it from there — no action required on your end.
Campaigns to the right people. Because Mailchimp has your real purchase history, you can send to people who buy premium cigars (not just accessories), to customers who've spent over $500 in the last six months, to everyone who's bought from a specific brand. Real buying behavior, not guesses.
Birthday and anniversary messages. A simple "Happy birthday — here's something for you" email, personalized and timed automatically, costs nothing to run once it's set up and builds the kind of loyalty that keeps regulars feeling seen.
Event and new-arrival announcements. Limited release hitting the shelf? Pairing night coming up? An email to your whole list — or just the right segment — costs $0 to send to your first 500 contacts on Mailchimp's free tier.
Results you can actually see. Mailchimp shows open rates, click rates, and — if you've set up the tracking — how email campaigns translate back to in-store visits. You stop guessing which campaigns are working and which ones aren't.
A Note on Your Mailchimp Account
The integration handles the data side — syncing customers and purchase history from TORO into Mailchimp. The actual sending, template design, and automations live in your Mailchimp account, which you access separately at mailchimp.com. If you don't have one yet, start on the free tier; it's enough to run campaigns until your list outgrows it.
