TORO v7.69.827.314

October 11, 2026

📋 Release Overview

A Journal Entry report for your books, coupons that take their full value, a smaller Mailchimp bill, and analytic orders that ignore your odd days. The highlights are below, and full details follow.

💰 Money & reports

  • Journal Entry report — one balanced entry for your books, for any day, week, month or quarter.
  • Trim your Mailchimp bill — customers who haven’t bought in a while are archived, and added back automatically when they buy again.
  • Wholesale invoices show returns — the printed and emailed total now matches the one saved in TORO.

🎟 Coupons & rewards

  • Coupons can take their full value — a new checkbox lets a coupon go past a product type’s max discount, and reward, welcome and birthday coupons get it by default.
  • Coupons keep up with the sale — they re-work every time the cart changes, and a manual discount no longer erases one.

📦 Inventory & purchasing

  • Leave unusual days out of analytic orders — a storm closure or a one-off big wholesale order no longer throws off your reorders.
  • Bulk Label Printer filters and the new Item Name Editor — find the labels you need fast, and clean up item names in bulk.
  • Cigar details shoppers can filter on — body, origin, wrapper, binder and filler go to your WooCommerce site.

🧾 At the counter

  • Cleaner receipts — no more $0.00 tax lines, and tax-exempt sales say so on the receipt.
  • Price Check shows the box deal, and changing a discount level can update every customer on it at once.

📖 Detailed Updates in This Release…

📒 New Report: Journal Entry

The numbers your bookkeeper actually asks for, in one balanced entry.

The new Journal Entry report builds one balanced entry for any day, week, month or quarter. It covers sales by category, cost of goods, sales tax, tips, every payment type, and the cash you moved to the safe and the bank. Debits and credits balance, so your bookkeeper isn’t piecing it together from three different reports.

This one was requested by Binder Tobacconist (TN).

How to activate: open the Advanced Reporting module and find Journal Entry.

🎟️ Coupons That Take Their Full Value

A $20 coupon should take $20 off. Now it can.

A new Not limited by item max discount checkbox in the Coupon Editor lets a coupon take its full value even on items whose product type has a max discount, so a $20 coupon isn’t cut short. A max discount you set on the item itself still applies, and so does an item set to 0% max discount.

Ticking the box needs the manager permission to override item max discounts, and TORO records who ticked it and when. If you use Create Coupon Like This without that permission, the new coupon is made with the box unticked and TORO tells you so.

Reward, welcome and birthday coupons get their full value too. New loyalty reward, welcome reward and birthday coupons are now made with the box ticked. To keep the old behavior, untick it in Rewards Program setup (and in each birthday tier). Coupons your customers already have stay as they are, unless you press the new Let Existing Coupons Override Product Type Max Discounts button in Rewards Program setup, which updates the unused reward, welcome and birthday coupons still out there. Every register should be on this update. A register that isn’t will keep limiting these coupons.

How to activate: tick Not limited by item max discount in the Coupon Editor. Rewards settings live in Rewards Program setup.

🔄 Coupons Keep Up With the Sale

Add an item, change a quantity, and the coupon follows along.

Adding an item, changing a quantity or removing one now re-works every coupon on the sale. A dollar coupon cut short by an item’s max discount grows back to full value when there’s room. A percentage coupon covers items added later, and shrinks when a quantity drops. If the sale falls below a coupon’s minimum purchase, the coupon comes off and TORO tells you why.

Manual discounts no longer erase a coupon. Discounting an item that already has a coupon keeps the coupon. If the two together go past the item’s max discount, TORO asks for a manager override instead of quietly dropping the coupon, and the coupon line shows what it actually took off.

📧 Trim Your Mailchimp Bill

Stop paying for subscribers who stopped coming in.

Mailchimp charges by the contact. A new setting in Mailchimp setup removes subscribers who haven’t bought anything in a number of days you choose. They’re archived in Mailchimp, not deleted, so they stop counting toward your bill, and they’re added back automatically the next time they buy.

It’s off unless you turn it on, and TORO shows you how many contacts it would remove before you say yes.

Unsubscribed customers stay unsubscribed. Saving a customer’s account or running Sync Accounts no longer signs someone back up to your Mailchimp list after they unsubscribed. To rejoin, they sign up again through your signup form.

How to activate: open Mailchimp setup and set the number of days.

📅 Leave Unusual Days Out of Analytic Orders

One weird day shouldn’t decide what you reorder.

A new Ignore for Analytic Orders day tag keeps a day like a storm closure, a one-time event or a stock-out out of your analytic purchase orders. They then work out how fast each item sells from your normal days only. Tag a day at the end-of-day close, or tag past days with the new Day Tags card on the Purchasing tab.

One-off wholesale orders too. A new Leave out of analytic orders checkbox on a wholesale invoice stops that invoice counting as sales in your analytic purchase orders, so a single big order doesn’t make TORO reorder for it. Inventory and payments are unchanged, and you can tick it even after the invoice is paid. Day tags don’t affect wholesale invoices.

How to activate: tag the day at the end-of-day close, use Day Tags on the Purchasing tab, or tick the box on a wholesale invoice.

🏷️ Find the Labels You Need, and Fix Item Names in Bulk

Less scrolling, less retyping.

Bulk Label Printer filters. The Bulk Barcode Printer now shows each item’s product type and can be narrowed by product type, brand or part of the item name. Click any column heading to sort. Only the items you can see can be selected and printed.

Choose which items need labels. A new Adjust Items Needing Printing button opens a list of all your items, where you can put selected items on the print list or take them off, or do it for every item shown at once. Use the same filters to narrow it down first.

Item Name Editor. A new tile on the Items tab lists every item’s name and short name side by side with an editable copy of each. Find & Replace works on the names, the short names, or both, and two checkboxes narrow the list to items whose names or short names are duplicated. Nothing changes until you press Save Changes.

How to activate: open the Bulk Barcode Printer, or the Item Name Editor tile on the Items tab.

🛒 Cigar Details Shoppers Can Filter On

Your website can now sort by wrapper, body and origin.

Body, origin, wrapper, binder and filler now go to your WooCommerce site as product attributes alongside strength, and body is added to the product description. They show on each product’s Additional information tab and can drive your shop filters, so a shopper can look for a medium-bodied Connecticut wrapper in a couple of clicks.

Details left blank in TORO are simply left off instead of showing “Unknown”, and an empty Size line no longer appears. This one was requested by iL Sigaro.

How to activate: run Sync All Items once to update the products already on your site. New and changed items pick it up on their own.

🧾 Cleaner Receipts

Only the taxes your customer paid, and a clear note when they paid none.

No more $0.00 tax lines. A tax that didn’t apply to the sale is left off the receipt, so you only see the taxes the customer actually paid. Requested by Leaf and Bean by Island Jim.

Tax-exempt sales say so. Under the total, the receipt now prints TAX EXEMPT with the organization’s name and exemption number, or, for an out-of-state shipment, the name and address it ships to. Reprints show it too.

💼 Returns Show on Wholesale Invoices

The invoice you send now matches the invoice you saved.

An item returned on a wholesale invoice (entered with a quantity of -1) was left off the printed and emailed invoice, so the invoice showed a higher total than the one saved in TORO. Returns now appear in their own Returns section under the items, the total takes them off, and the spreadsheet sent with emailed invoices lists them too. The saved total and your inventory were always right.

👥 Quote the Box Deal, Update a Whole Discount Level

Two small time-savers at the counter.

Price Check shows the box discount. When a category has an automatic box discount, the Price Check window now shows the box’s regular price crossed out next to the discounted box price and the percentage off, so you can quote a customer the box deal without ringing it up. Items without a box discount look the same as before.

Update everyone on a discount level at once. When you change a discount level’s discounts, TORO now asks if you want to give the new discounts to every customer already on that level, so you don’t have to update them one by one. Saying yes replaces those customers’ discounts with the level’s, including any one-off discount you set on someone’s account, so TORO warns you first. No is the default.

🔧 Under the Hood

  • Faster, more dependable backups. The daily backup finishes in a fraction of the time and no longer slows the register while it runs. If the last backup in the cloud turns out to be missing or empty, TORO makes a fresh one on its own when you open the drawer for the day.
  • Fully comped sales are tax-free again. A sale paid entirely with Comp Employee or Comp Store now removes every sales tax, even on a tax set not to come off tax-exempt sales. That setting now only affects tax-exempt customers. Sales comped before this update are left as they were.
  • Find Customers shows everyone. Customers who have an account but haven’t bought anything yet now show up (with 0 visits and $0.00 spent) instead of being left out. A Max visits limit includes them too, so “2 visits or fewer” also finds people who have never bought.
  • No location questions if you don’t use locations. Stores that don’t use Inventory Locations are no longer asked to set locations when receiving an order, and the Backstock Slip and Backstock Labels buttons are hidden for them.
  • A roomier report screen. Report tiles in Advanced Reporting are a little taller, so longer titles and descriptions aren’t cut off, and the search box and view buttons moved up beside the title so more reports fit without scrolling.
  • Quick discount reasons wrap. Stores with lots of quick reasons on the Discount screen now see them flow onto a second (or third) line instead of running off the right edge where they couldn’t be tapped.
  • The TORO logo is back in emailed reports. Scheduled and Send Now report emails, the Company Report Card, and the Instagram icon in your email footer were showing a broken image. They load again.
  • Tip setup reads cleanly. The two “How to assign tips” choices in Setup Tips were showing stray code around their text. They now show just the words.
  • Resetting a kiosk PIN works for cell phones again. The kiosk was telling customers with a cell phone that it could only text a PIN to a cell phone, and telling customers with a landline that a code was on its way. It now texts the cell phones and explains to the landlines.
  • Store Report settings are labelled correctly. The Sales Tax and Sales Tax Line Items sections were both titled “Purchase Orders”. They now carry their real names.
