Customizing Brand Buttons
The brand buttons on your main screen are the fastest way for staff to find a maker and ring up a cigar — so it helps when they actually look the part. TORO lets you design each one: drop in the brand's logo, size it, and set the text exactly how you want it. A button with a familiar logo gets tapped faster than a wall of identical names.
Everything here is done from one little editor, and a live preview shows you precisely what the button will look like at the register before you save a thing.
Opening the editor
There are two ways in. From your main screen, right-click the brand button you want to change and choose Edit Brand Button. Or, while editing a brand (Manage Brands → the brand → Edit), click the Edit button next to the brand-button preview. Either way you land in the same place: a full-size preview of the button on the left and the controls on the right.
This is a manager-level action, so TORO may ask for a login first — the same permission that covers managing brands. A brand has to be saved before you can customize its button, since that's where the look is stored.
Adding or changing the logo
Click Change Image… to pick a picture from your computer. Any common image works — a PNG, JPG, or JPEG — and you no longer have to size it to an exact pixel width first. TORO scales whatever you give it to fit the button.
Once it's on the button, the Image Size slider makes the logo bigger or smaller. Slide it down to leave room for text underneath, or up to let a clean logo fill the button.
To move the logo, just drag it in the preview to wherever it looks best.
Setting the text
The Display Text box controls what's written on the button. By default it's the brand's name, but you can type anything here — a shorter nickname, a second line, whatever reads best on the floor. This only changes the button; it doesn't rename the brand anywhere else in TORO.
Three things shape how that text looks:
- Text Color — click Choose… to pick any color. Light text reads well over a dark logo; dark text over a light one.
- Text Size — the slider grows or shrinks the words.
- Position — drag the text in the preview to place it. Top, bottom, tucked beside the logo — your call.
Saving (and starting over)
The preview is exactly what you'll see at the register, so arrange it until it looks right, then click Save. Cancel backs out without keeping your changes, and Reset to Default clears everything back to the plain brand-name look if you want a clean slate.
A brand's look is saved with the brand itself, so it shows the same on every register in your store — set it once and you're done.
