When you hand a customer a coupon, the code is only as good as how easily it comes back through the register. Typing HUCK161 by hand at checkout is fine once — it's annoying the fiftieth time, and it's a typo waiting to happen. The Coupon Receipt Barcode module fixes that by printing a scannable barcode right on the coupon, under the code.

The customer brings the slip back, your cashier scans it, and the coupon drops straight into the Apply Coupon screen. No squinting at a code, no retyping, no "is that a zero or an O."

Turning It On

From the dashboard, open the Modules & Integrations tab and find Coupon Receipt Barcode. The padlock on the tile tells you where you stand — a closed padlock means it's locked (not active yet), an open one means it's running.

Click the tile and you'll get a short sign-up screen showing the $4.99 price and a Turn ON Module button. An admin user has to be the one to switch it on. That's it — the next coupon you print will carry a barcode.

What the Coupon Looks Like Now

Turning the module on also tidies up the whole coupon slip. Instead of a sterile, form-like printout, your customer gets something that reads like a reward:

• A friendly greeting by first name — "Congrats, Maria!"
• The reward itself, printed big — "$130.00 off a $650.00 purchase"
• The coupon code, large and easy to read for any age of eyes
• The scannable barcode, centered under the code
• The start and expiration dates in plain language

The big readable code never goes away — the barcode is an addition, not a replacement. If your scanner ever has a bad day, the cashier can still key the code in by hand.

Redeeming a Coupon by Scan

At the register, open Apply Coupon the same way you always have. The cursor lands in the code box automatically, so you don't have to click first — just scan the barcode on the customer's slip. The code fills in and the coupon applies on the spot, because the scanner's built-in Enter acts as the "Apply" press for you.

Everything else about coupons works exactly as before. The barcode is just a faster on-ramp to the same Apply Coupon screen.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

• The barcode encodes the coupon code exactly as it's stored, so a scan always matches. Codes are case-sensitive under the hood, but you never have to think about that — printing and scanning handle it.
• Any code works, including ones with letters and numbers mixed together (like HUCK161). The barcode adjusts to whatever the code is.
• The barcode only prints while the module is active. Turn the module off and coupons go back to printing the code without one — nothing breaks.
