Processor
As fast as an Intel Core i5-1340P
TORO runs your register and your store’s database on this computer. A fast processor keeps the register instant during a rush and makes reports finish in seconds. The check looks up your processor’s PassMark scores and compares them to our benchmark.
Memory (RAM)
32 GB
TORO, its database, Windows, and your web browser all run at the same time. With 32 GB everything stays in fast memory. If you are short, the check tells you exactly which memory to buy and whether you can add a stick or need to replace what you have.
Drive
NVMe SSD with 10 GB free
Your whole store’s sales, inventory, and customer history lives on this drive. An NVMe SSD is several times faster than a regular SSD and many times faster than an old spinning hard drive, and 10 GB free leaves room to grow.
How to run it
Windows asks for permission before running any downloaded program. Here is what you’ll see.

Download the TORO PC Check.
Click the Download button above on the computer you want to use for TORO. Your browser may say the file “isn’t commonly downloaded.” Click Keep. (In Microsoft Edge, click the … next to the download, choose Keep, then Keep anyway.)

Open it and give Windows permission to run it.
Open TORO-PC-Check.exe from your Downloads. Windows will likely show a blue box that says “Windows protected your PC.” Click More info, then click Run anyway. Windows shows this for small programs it hasn’t seen many times before; it does not mean anything is wrong.

Wait about 20 seconds.
A small window shows the check running. When it finishes, your results open in your web browser and a copy is saved to your Desktop as a file starting with TORO PC Check.

Send the results to your TORO representative.
Email or text the report file from your Desktop to your TORO rep. Each item is marked Meets spec, Close, or Needs attention, with the reason and what to buy if an upgrade is needed.
Seeing “Smart App Control has blocked this app”?
Some newer Windows 11 computers have Smart App Control turned on, and it has no “Run anyway” button. No need to change anything just to run this check: open Start → Settings → System → About, take a photo or screenshot of that screen, and send it to your TORO rep instead.
Heads up: TORO itself needs Smart App Control turned off to run on that computer. Here’s how.
