Let’s reconnect this computer

One of your computers stopped talking to the main register. Nothing is broken. You can fix this yourself by copying one set of numbers, one step at a time.

You are going to put the main computer’s numbers into one file:

c:\hellasbae\data\mainStationIPAddress.txt

The steps below walk you there, one click at a time. Take your time.

  1. 1

Go to your MAIN computer — the main register.

This is the computer the others connect to. We just need to read one set of numbers off it. If you are already sitting at the computer that will not connect, get up and go to the main one first.
  2. 2

Open TORO and find the numbers at the top.

On the main computer, open TORO. Look along the very top bar of the TORO window. You will see something that looks like [DB: 10.0.0.142] — your numbers will be different. Write those numbers down on a piece of paper exactly as you see them.
    [DB: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX]
  3. 3

Now go to the computer that will NOT connect.

Walk over to the station that keeps showing the connection problem. We will do the rest there.
  4. 4

Find the yellow folder at the bottom of the screen.

Along the very bottom of the screen is a row of small pictures. Find the one that looks like a yellow folder and click it one time — a window will open.

Do not see a folder down there? On the keyboard, hold the Windows key(the key with the four-square window picture, to the left of the space bar) and press the letter E.

  5. 5

Click the address bar and type this, then press Enter.

Near the top of that window is the address bar. In the picture below it has a red box around it. Click inside it one time, type these exact letters, then press the Enter key:
A Windows File Explorer window. The address bar near the top is circled in red, with a red arrow pointing up at it.
    c:\hellasbae\data
  6. 6

    Find “mainStationIPAddress” and open it.

A list of items appears. Find the one named mainStationIPAddress. Point your mouse at it and click twice quickly (a double-click) to open it. It opens in a plain white notepad.
  7. 7

Erase what is there and type your numbers.

Delete whatever numbers are already in the file, and type in the numbers you wrote down from the main computer in Step 2. Type them exactly — the dots matter, like 10.0.0.142.
  8. 8

    Save it the RIGHT way.

At the top-left, click the word File, then click Save.

Do not just click the X to close.

In Windows 11 the file does NOT save when you click the X in the corner. You must click File, then Save. If you skip this, the station will not connect.

Then you can close the window and restart TORO.

Stuck, or it still will not connect?

Do not worry — we will finish it with you. Send a message in your Store WhatsApp Support Group and we will walk you through it.
