Pushover Integration
We used to be able to send a text message to your phone from an email service. This has been discontinued. Cell phone providers are blocking it due to the amount of spam. This was an easy way for the wrong people to spam the masses.
AT&T are the first to make a strong stance; however, these have been getting blocked randomly (or late delivery) for the last 2-3 years by all cell companies. You can read more here: https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1061254/
All that said, we have a new solution using an app called Pushover. Just need to take a few steps to set this up for your account.
SETTING UP YOUR ACCOUNT
- On a computer, go to https://pushover.net/signup and create an account.
- Once you have a Pushover Account, then you will receive a User Key. Go to DASHBOARD, then MANAGE EMPLOYEES. Edit the User Account. In the top right corner you will see a text box where you can paste in the Pushover User Key. Save the User Profile.
- Restart TORO.
RECEIVING MESSAGES FROM TORO
You can receive the messages on your computer or phone.
To receive them on your computer, go here: https://pushover.net/clients/desktop
To receive them on your phone, using your phone browser, go to https://pushover.net/ and download the app.
The app is free for 30 days. If you like this service, you will need to pay $4.99 one time.
Once you have the User Key in TORO and the app installed, restart TORO to start getting messages.
This service is currently free for TORO Users. There may be fees in the future, but currently, we are absorbing the costs.
Access Level, Panic Messages and Closing Reports will be free. Down the road, if we are going over our budget on what messages are sent out, there may be a small fee to continue getting them. They will all be defaulted on. Please feel free to turn off any message that is not useful for you. This will make more messages available to another store. As long as we stay under their allotment, we will continue to offer this service for free.
